iCoach - Behavior Intervention Specialist
The Behavior Intervention Specialist provides support Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) for behavior, as well as professional development for staff in areas such as classroom management, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Supports (TCIS), and the effects of trauma. The individual provides direct modeling and coaching in proven behavior management strategies. They also support student teams when a student is transitioning into or out of an external placement, and makes referrals (when needed) to community agencies to address behavioral concerns. The Behavior Intervention Specialist provides consultation to families on issues related to behavior concerns and monitoring data related to behavior.
iCoach - Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
The iCoach – Social Emotional Learning (SEL) addresses social emotional learning curriculum in grades K-12 and works with teachers and support staff to provide SEL. The individual provides support for Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and coordinates/provides professional development needs for the district. The iCoach SEL supports teachers with how to effectively use Second Step, DBT Steps A, and other programs to implement NYSED learning standard expectations. They support Professional Learning Communities (PLC) in interpreting SEL data, and works in collaboration with the Executive Directors, Directors and Principals to support staff implementing New York State Next Learning Standards for social-emotional learning.
School Counselors
School counselors are certified/licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. School counselors help all students apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills, and plan for postsecondary options (higher education, military, work force).
School Social Workers
School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students; consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies; work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies; and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.
