Dear Liverpool CSD Families,
The Central New York community is currently grappling with extreme heat conditions, prompting local school districts to take proactive measures to ensure the safety of students and staff.
In Liverpool's K-8 buildings, most areas are equipped with air conditioning (although there are a few spots in each building that do not have this amenity). Staff members have been advised to avoid these non-air conditioned areas as much as possible and to minimize any outdoor activities.
Liverpool High School has several air conditioned spaces, and Regents Exams scheduled for this week have been relocated to ensure a comfortable testing environment for students.
To further safeguard against the heat, students are encouraged to dress appropriately for hot weather and to bring water bottles with them to school each day.
As the extreme heat persists throughout the week, the district will continue to monitor the situation closely to implement any additional measures for the well-being of everyone in the school community.
Sincerely,
Daniel G. Henner
Superintendent of Schools
