Dr. Bill Daggett presenting at LHS

*** Due to the forecasted weather, and ensuring that our guest speaker Dr. Daggett can safely travel home to the Albany area, tonight's community discussion regarding the future of education has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled in the near future and we hope to have a new date soon. Thank you for your understanding. ***

The will host renowned educational speaker Dr. Bill Daggett for a special event, “Preparing Students for the Future – Not Our Past,” on Monday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Liverpool High School.

The evening will kick off in the LHS Auditorium, where community members are invited to join Dr. Daggett, founder of the Successful Practices Network and the International Center for Leadership in Education, as he discusses how new technologies and social realities are highlighting the need for meaningful changes to education in the United States.

He will discuss the challenges school districts are facing and the importance of focusing on an educational model that doesn’t rely on teaching methods used in the past to serve students in the future.

After Dr. Daggett’s presentation, attendees will be invited to the LHS Cafeteria for a community feedback session. Participants will gather in small groups where they can share their views regarding the district's most recent reconfiguration and educational shifts, as well as what the District can do to better prepare students for their future.

Prior to the evening’s event, Dr. Daggett will meet with Liverpool CSD staff members as part of the district’s March Superintendent’s Conference Day.

A former teacher and administrator, as well as director with the New York State Education Department, Dr. Daggett created the Rigor/Relevance Framework and the Future-Focused Success Framework, which have become key tools in education reform efforts.
